Have you ever read a story
About the famous Captain Hook?
Yesterday I read about him
In a Peter Pan comic book.

But not a single word was said
Of how the captain got his hook;
Of just how he had lost his hand,
Whether to crocodile or crook.

Don’t you wonder what his name was,
Before he had to get his hook?
It certainly wasn’t mentioned
In my Peter Pan comic book.

I certainly guess it’s handy,
‘Cause he could eat without a fork.
It would make a handy weapon,
Should he get caught out after dark.

But there’s one thing that concerns me;
I think you’d have to suppose
That it’s really going to hurt
If he forgets and picks his nose!
